Many are confident that in the near future the computer will completely supplant the book. And I am convinced that this will never happen.
Computers and the Internet are crowding out books. Everyone managed to put up with this bleak picture. Remember, Hugo’s father Claude, putting one hand on the book, and the other pointing to the Notre-Dame de Paris, says: “This will kill that.” So it is now: it seems that the computer is about to deal with the book. But there are several reasons why this will never happen.
